Our current (2021) base rate is $300 per hour. We do not raise prices on returning clients so if you became a client in 2013, your rate this year is a fraction of the current rate. The rate today is a permanent “grandfathered” price in future seasons. Assuming there are no significant changes in your event or its location since the last one you hired us for. The price for your next event is exactly the same price as you paid in each of the previous years.
The billable cost per event is determined by duration of the event, location in relation to the specific Santa and specific performance activity requested, etc. Mrs. Claus and elves are available. Some events may require travel time and expense recovery. For example, a Breakfast with Santa at a suburban venue 30 minutes from Santa’s home base, will be at the standard base rate. The same event an hour away in a midtown business district may require travel time, tolls and expensive parking.
The rate is the same per hour for six or ten hours as it is for one or two hours. Being Santa is physically, emotionally and mentally demanding. It is not just sitting in a hot suit, keeping a photogenic pose and smiling. Try it it sometime at home or in your office for just one hour and you’ll realize how draining the work is.
In all fairness, there should be a higher rate for 6 hours than for 2 hours, but that’s not the way the world works. Therefore, we charge a flat hourly rate regardless of the length of the event.
There is an exception to our base rate. A 30-minute home visit on Christmas Eve will be the pricing equivalent of “market rate” for fresh lobster in an upscale restaurant. There’s only one such time slot that night. We do not start booking Christmas Eve until after Thanksgiving day.
Commercials for your web site or other media are based on the time needed on location, expense of travel and the usage wanted. Of course, if SAG/AFTRA is involved, union rules are respected. We have Santas union and non-union. Your inquiries are welcome. We will share conflicts on request.
FULL SATISFACTION GUARANTEE – If you are not fully satisfied, just tell us why so we can apply that internally for training and management improvement. Sometimes we may explain our position on that issue. Most important of all, if you are still unsatisfied, we will refund 100% of Santa’s performance fee, without argument or delay.
